Nen battles aren't easy peasy, Gon and Killua were personally picked by Netero while Morel and Knov picked their pupils. Zodiacs are fucking godly, but Morel and Knov and their pupils had better nen abilities and skills to carry out the extermination it you recall their original strategy Morel distracts, Knov kidnaps and Netero eliminates. Also CHIMERA ANTS ABSORB ANYTHING THAT THEY EAT, which is why the extermination team had to be limited. Also Zodiacs don't show up regularly, which is why so many of them are not even well known like Ging being one of the top guys and most hunters have no idea who tf is he, only Pariston is somewhat popular

He doesn't want a lot of people around him when he dies. The ants are as strong as top 20 hunters and have unknown abilities; the chance of something going wrong was very high, and his heart insurance could blow unexpectedly.

The zodiacs are as much administrators as they are fighters, likely even more administrator than fighter, given 3 of them didn't excite Hisoka. They're supposed to remain and run the government. Without them and the chairman lost, it'd be total chaos.

Plus the strongest of them, Ging, probably wasn't even reachable—not to mention he wouldn't come anyways because of Gon, who was never going to remove himself after Kite was killed.
